Join us as we light up MUSC Hollings Cancer Center in blue for LOWVELO24! Glow Blue Week includes special events, free registration for our Nov. 2 ride and fun giveaways all week long. Below is a list of events happening each day. We hope to see you there!
Monday, Sept. 30
LOWVELO Glow Blue Week Kick-Off Parade
Dress up your bike, show your LOWVELO pride by wearing blue, and join us for a ride around campus at MUSC. Meet at 11:45 a.m. at the corner of Ehrhardt and Doughty Streets.
Tuesday, Oct. 1
LOWVELO takes over MUSC
Come visit one of our Why I Ride booths at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, the campus library or in Ashley River Tower from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for FREE registration, fun swag and a chance to share why you ride!
LOWVELO training ride at Edmund's Oast
This ride hosted by Charleston Beer Riders departs from Edmund’s Oast Brewing. Gather with bikes in the courtyard by 6 p.m. There will be a route for any level rider. Team captains – stick around for a Q&A with the LOWVELO team post-ride.
LOWVELO yoga night at Edmund's Oast
Join us on the green space at Edmund’s Oast for yoga with Kelsey Harriso at 6:30 p.m. Hang around afterwards for food, drinks and to get to know LOWVELO riders after their training ride finishes.
Wednesday, Oct. 2
LOWVELO Glow Blue Festival on the Greenway
Our biggest event of the week! Come to the MUSC Greenway between 11a.m. and 2 p.m. for live music, vendors, food trucks, and exciting giveaways!
Thursday, Oct. 1
Ride for Research
Meet at the MUSC Greenway at Jonathan Lucas Street at 6 a.m. for this training ride to the Ravenel Bridge. We’ll do some early morning laps and be back on campus by 7:30 or 8 a.m.
Yoga on the Greenway
Join our trainer from the MUSC Wellness Center for a 45-minute yoga class on the Greenway at 8 a.m.
HIIT Class on the Greenway
Join a trainer from Oberfit for a high intensity interval training (HIIT) class on the Greenway at 10 a.m.
Breathwork and meditation on the Greenway
Join world-renowned expert, Sundar Balasubramanian, Ph.D., for yogic breathing and meditation on the Greenway at 11 a.m.
LOWVELO Lunch & Learn: Mobility, Injury Prevention and Recovery
MUSC’s Michael Sole, a certified athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist, will discuss foam rolling, corrective exercises to assist with mobility and injury prevention, recovery tools and methods for training before and after an event. Register here.
