About LOWVELO

What is LOWVELO?

LOWVELO is an annual fundraising event that rallies the community for one great cause – funding lifesaving cancer research at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in South Carolina. Our goal is to eradicate cancer by supporting research at Hollings that investigates new treatments and promising approaches to finding cures.

100% of every participant-raised dollar from this grassroots event goes directly to cancer research. Riders have the option of choosing one of five routes based on their desired distance – 10 miles, 20 miles, 23 miles, 50 miles, or 80 miles. We also have a finish line stationary ride as well as the virtual LOWVELO Home Team option for those who can’t join us in person or prefer to log miles on their own.

Participation is open to all fitness levels age 8 and up for the 10- and 20-mile rides, age 14 and up for the 23- and 50-mile rides and age 16 and up for the 80-mile ride. Each rider commits to the cause by fundraising at least a minimum amount based on their chosen distance.

Together, we can change what’s possible in cancer care. We thank you for your support!
